Daibutsu: Great Buddha of Kamakura

One of the most famous statues of Amida Buddha is located within the grounds of Kotokuin Temple in Kamakura. The Great Buddha of Kamakura is the second tallest bronze Buddha statue in Japan with a height of 13.35 meters while the statue at Todaiji Temple in Nara is 15 meters tall. It was originally built in 1252 and located inside a large temple hall, but has been outside for hundreds of years due to the temple buildings being destroyed multiple times. The earliest that I was able to come was a little past lunchtime, so I wasn't very surprised to see it packed with visitors. However, it was still very impressive nonetheless :)

Since selfies are a must....

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)
