While riding the bus from Incheon Airport to our hostel, I managed a glimpse of Gyeongbokkung Palace and was amazed at its proximity to downtown. We started off our morning early and caught the train to Gwanghwamun Square. From there, it was a two minute walk to the famous palace...

I was always in awe of the interior of traditional Korean palaces. The intricate colors and carvings never ceased to amaze me.

I was immediately pulled to the ornate decorations that were placed on the rooftops of each building.
And the designs on the tiles...you wonder how long it took to make enough of these for just one building let alone the entire palace!
